Palossand is a Ghost/Ground type Pokémon species. Its juvenile stage is known as Sandygast.
Biology[]
This Pokemon resembles a large amorphous mass made entirely of sand. Its body has a yellowish coloration in the Palossand stage, and a more pale-white color in the Sandygast stage.
In the Sandygast stage, this Pokémon appears to have a blob-like shape with small arms and blessed with a large opening as its mouth whereas in the Palossand stage, it possesses more of a sandcastle shaped body with two towers acting as arms. It also has a huge tunnel for a mouth along with several windows both in front and behind. In both stages, it has a red shovel placed atop its head.
Pokédex entries claim that Sandygast are born from sand mounds built and abandoned in the beaches by children, and then possessed by spirits. They can take control of people and hypnotize them into adding more sand to the pile, making the Pokémon grow and eventually evolve to Palossand. As a predator, it preys on smaller species by draining away their life force and eating them, leaving only the bones behind.
