Rapidash is a Fire-type Pokémon species whose juvenile stage is known as Ponyta. Wild populations can be found in the regions of Kanto, Johto, Sinnoh, and Unova.
Biology[]
Its physical appearance is reminiscent of a light-cream colored unicorn whose mane and tail are made entirely out of flames. Needless to say, its body produces fire as means of attack and defense, as is typical of Fire-type Pokémon.
Like its name suggests, Rapidash is an extremely fast creature, able to run at speeds of about 240 km/h. It's also known for its competitive nature. Every time it sees something running, Rapidash has the urge to chase it and try to outrun it, even if the object in question is a vehicle such as a train. Its ability to accelerate is phenomenal, as it can reach its top speed in only ten steps. While galloping at full speed, the flames on its back become longer and its hooves barely touch the ground.

Its juvenile stage, Ponyta, is similar to its fully-grown counterpart, but notably lacks the horn. Its hooves have been described as ten times stronger than diamond, and it's capable of jumping over structures as tall as the Eiffel Tower, or even Ayers Rock, in one single leap. However, it is a weak runner at birth, and only becomes stronger by its efforts to keep up with its parents.
A Psychic/Fairy-type version, which juvenile stage is a pure Psychic-type, occurs in the Galar region. This version is white in color with a blue and pink, cotton candy-like mane, tail and cuffs. Its eyes and the inside of its ears are purple and both the juvenile and adult stage has a purple horn. The juvenile stage has a single white stripe on its horn while the adult stage has three
