Scrappy Rex is an evil version of Scrappy-Doo, corrupted by the power of the Daemon Ritus. The supernatural artifact allowed him to absorb the protoplasmic spirits of several people whose bodies had been possessed by the Spooky Island Creatures. This in turn transformed Scrappy into a giant monstrous beast bent on eliminating humanity.
