The Smilodon is a feline creature that appears in the 2008 film, 10,000 B.C.
It appears to have a generic appearance like most smilodons from other media, having color patterns similar to modern tigers and leopards and a body shape similar to a lion. It appears in the film where it was shown trapped in a pit during the storm, the protagonist D'Leh helps the creature by removing the logs, freeing it. The feline appears again, as it arrives in the village and encounters D'Leh again in an eye to eye confrontation, but recognizes that he was the man who saved its life.
- The smilodon was oversized for the film, while the real ones were smaller than humans.
- Its tail appears to be a bit long, while its real counterparts have short tails.
- Real smilodons only lived in the Americas. Other saber-toothed felines did inhabit the old world, but none reaching the size of the animal seen in the movie, as far as we know.
