The "Spider Frog" is a sapient, chimerical beast whose lived for more than over an eternity and it resides just beyond from both Trolberg and Tofoten.
Overview[]
Judging from its most unusual appearance, this creature is oddly a cross between both a frog and spider: having six elongated legs equipped with three-toed feet including a pair of shorter forearms and has a sturdy newt-like tail, even algae-based fur that appears to be growing directly atop both its back and legs. Its mouth lacks teeth but instead contains a long, divided sickly green-colored tongue which possesses hand-like appendages.
Although while it cannot speak verbally, its able to communicate somewhat telepathically through the visible glands across its neck and can produce a sticky fabric substance from its wrists; used to trap its victims and especially for keeping out intruders. The creature also doesn't have any ears and therefore, it hears by using the hairs across its legs and it is evidently older as time, making it immortal. It also generally prefers to be unlabeled and accordingly, nameless.
Despite being known to prey on humans, it's possible that the creature does not really consume meat, given how it immediately barfed after swallowing Hilda and Johanna whole within seconds. It also claims to have came from a certain time period, where all creatures were not specifically called under anything by one another and seems to be repelled or otherwise inhibited by special charms.
History[]
Though the origins of this creature are anonymous, it is an ancient being whose lived potentially forever and its admission involves neither "one thing nor another". Unknowably quite some time ago, it attacked Johanna when she was but a child. Luckily, her family; Astrid, Phinium and Lydia trapped it down underneath a lake guarded by a net attached with several magical charms to prevent it from escape. Unfortunately, just years later, Hilda had accidentally unleashed the creature when she removed all the charms, where it soon captured her and tried to get Johanna who barely managed to slip away from it. After Johanna rescued Hilda, they were then once again encountered and pursued by this creature in which case, it successfully managed to swallow them both whole. However, in spite of being eaten, they were both lucky enough as consequently that overall, the creature does not have a taste for humans and therefore, reconsidered itself as their "friend". It also had secretly implied to them that it knew they're both part Fairy before it returned back into the forest never to be seen again.
