The Squirt is an amphibian whose indigenous biomes are not explicitly stated, but they are known to have been domesticated by the people of Heliopolis, with one small farm found in the South Desert. They are related to the Small Frog and the Spitting Toad, although the extent of their relation has not been investigated further than this. Considering their severe timidness they are considered to be most likely herbivorous by nature.
The Squirt is a shy, easily frightened creature. The high value of the Squirt comes as a result of being immune to Capture Beetles.
Sphinx first encounters one of these on display in the Abydosian Museum in Abydos. It is unknown how this individual was captured considering their immunity to Capture Beetles. He does not encounter an active on for a while more, when he finds a small farm focused on them in Heliopolis' South Desert.
