The Stegosaurs are genetically cloned dinosaurs that appeared in the Jurassic Park series.

Overview[]

Although these animals were different then their real counterparts, the clones were green in color with brown plates exhibiting a paler center, InGen may have increased its size to make it more spectacular. The clones also lacked throat armor like the originals, They have sharp spikes located on their tails in order to protect themselves from predators. The dinosaurs were said to be unintelligent due to their small brain. One of the most famous appearances in the franchise is The Lost World: Jurassic Park, where the hunters, Ian Malcolm, Eddie Carr, and Nick Van Owen encountered the stegosaurus herd in an awe way. Moments later, they found Dr. Sarah Harding who was wandering in the forest taking pictures, She hears sounds coming from the herd, she comes into the bushes where she encountered a baby stegosaurus (Claire), She tried to take a picture of the baby, but the film on her camera was full and starts to make noises, which caused the baby to howl for its herd. The stegosaurs saw Harding as a threat to their offspring and started to attack her. She hid in the log, where one of the stegosaurs almost killed her with its spikes.

The remaining Stegosaurus were taken off of Isla Nublar because of it's eruption, taken to Lockwood Manor to be auctioned, eventually freed by Maisie Lockwood. After the incident, a Stegosaurus was sighted on a mountain road crashing someone's car somewhere in California. The surviving Stegosaurus continued to roam North America's ecosystem.
