"Every twenty-third spring for twenty three days it gets to...eat."
— Jezelle Gay Hartman explain about The Creeper in the first film
The Creeper is the main antagonist in the Jeepers Creepers movie series.
Etymology[]
The Creeper takes his name from the 1938 Louis Armstrong song Jeepers Creepers which is featured prominently in the film.
Appearance[]
The Creeper is a well-built humanoid with olive green scales. He has prominent jowls and razor sharp teeth. He has three nostrils and a frilled hood. He is almost entirely hairless save for long white hair on the back of his head. His eyes are significantly more human than the rest of him. He wears a 19th century duster and tattered pants. He sometimes wears a stetson and a red shirt. In the first film he wore boots but discarded them to reveal sharp talons. He has large bat-like wings under his jacket.
Abilities[]
The Creeper is fully capable of powered flight using his wings and can incorporate whatever he eats into his body which then transforms to look like the rest of him. He can survive without his head but his motor skills are severely impaired. He also possesses superhuman accuracy. He is entirely capable of speech but does so extremely rarely having said only a single sentence in a deleted scene over the course of the three movies. He can drive with his only known car being a 1941 Chevrolet Heavy-Duty COE
Notes[]
- While his origins are unknown, Victor Salva thinks that The Creeper was originally human and isn't a demon or alien, suggesting that he hasn't written a definite origin story.
- While a fourth film hasn't been confirmed, there are rumors that it will be the final film and will reveal The Creeper's origin
- A creature that bears a significant resemblance to The Creeper has been seen across Texas.
