The Lobe is a short humanoid creature with an enormous brain, sharp teeth and bulging yellow eyes. He is most well-known as the arch-enemy of the zany superhero known as Freakazoid.
Biography[]
While nothing has been revealed about the Lobe's origins and backstory, it's publicly known that he's a megalomaniac evil super genius who creates extraordinary devices in his attempts to destroy Freakazoid. In some schemes he is assisted by a couple of henchmen. He is also friends with the rest of Freakazoid's enemies and sometimes teams up with them.
Despite his megalomania, the Lobe also expresses signs of deep insecurity, this being particularly evident in "The Cloud" episode, in which Freakazoid manages to defeat him simply by pointing out the stupidity of his evil plan (turning people into mindless clown slaves so they can infiltrate the houses of everyone), reducing the Lobe to a crying, apologizing mess who goes away in shame - after which Freakazoid admits that the plan was actually brilliant.
In "Normadeus", the Lobe is also shown to have a mental breakdown over his inability with carpentry, causing him to abduct Norm Abram and order him to build his new wood-based superweapon for him. In "The Island of Dr. Mystico", the Lobe muses that if he lets Freakazoid die he might become the star of the show instead, but is unsure over whether he could withstand the pressure of this role. In "Dexter's Date", the Lobe becomes mad about Freakazoid defeating him too easily, without giving him a proper action chase scene, and only agrees to help Freakazoid at the end if he gets one.
