Titanosaurus is a bipedal, amphibious, daikaiju-sized dinosaur originally described by Dr. Shinzo Mafune, who discovered it in the ocean bed off the coast of the Ogasawara Islands.
Biology[]
As its name suggests, Titanosaurus is a veritable leviathan of the seas and also an extremely powerful beast which posed a danger even to Godzilla, despite being ultimately defeated by him.
In its natural state Titanosaurus, is not an aggressive creature and is unlikely to attack unprovoked. However, Dr. Mafune has created a mechanism which allows him complete control over the monster.
Like many daikaiju, Titanosaurus is bipedal while moving on land, but usually resides at the sea. It can leap enormous heights and is strong enough to lift Godzilla from the ground with relative ease. It can also attack by generating devastating winds when swinging its tail-fin from side to side. Its primary vulnerability is to supersonic waves, which cause it to writhe in agony.
Appearances[]
Showa era
- Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975)
Millennium era
Godzilla Final Wars (stock footage and cameo) (2004)
Notes[]
- Titanosaurus is also the name of a real life genus of sauropods which lived during the Cretaceous period, but bore no similarity to this daikaiju.
