Tooth Fairies are small, multi-limbed and extremely ferocious aerial predators featured in Hellboy II: The Golden Army. The ones shown in the movie were purchased by Nuada Silverlance at the Troll Market.
Overview
Individually, tooth fairies aren't much of a threat; unfortunately they prefer to travel in swarms. Depending on the size of the swarm, they can quickly overwhelm most creatures. The tooth fairies hail from the Black Forest and feed largely on calcium (flesh, bones, organs and other tissues), and due to its higher concentrations of the mineral, they prefer the teeth (hence their name).
Behavior and sentience
When attacking live prey, they target a victim's teeth first, but will eventually eat the entire body until nothing remains but the fairies' own feces (which confirmed a comment by Abe Sapien). They swarm in great numbers and are capable of overwhelming humanoid targets; stripping them of flesh in a matter of seconds. Despite their savage behavior, they are sentient and capable of intelligent communication among themselves and others (in their distinctive language).
