The Tree Hopper (Arbrosaurus bernardi) is a species of small, arboreal dinosaurs which evolved in an alternate timeline where the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event never happened. These agile creatures are among the most typical representatives of the arbrosaurs lineage - a group of newly-evolved arboreal theropods.
Biology[]
These animals inhabit rainforests of several continents, including Africa. They distinguish themselves from most theropods by possessing strongly-developed collarbones, which provide anchorage for the arm muscles. They are insectivorous, warm-blooded, and possess an enlarged brain. Their eyes face forwards, giving them a better perception of depth.
True to their name, Tree Hoppers are excellent at leaping, but they also possess other forms of locomotion. For instance, their strong arms allow them to brachiate or hang below branches. The tail is long and stiff, useful for providing balance. The sharp claws are used for both climbing purposes and tearing through tree bark in search for insects to feed. When on the ground, they typically move around by bipedal leaping, similar to a sifaka lemur.
