The Tree of Beginning is a huge crystalline life form, tree-shaped and mountain-sized. It has a symbiotic connection to a Mew that lives within it, and also houses an entire ecosystem with numerous Pokémon species, including some such as Omastar, Cradily, Aerodactyl, and Armaldo, which have gone extinct elsewhere. The legendary titans trio: Regirock, Regice, and Registeel act as guardians to the Tree and will relentlessly pursue human intruders.
Being a living organism, the Tree of Beginning can also create globular masses that act as defense cells. These will readily try to engulf any human that enters the Tree, although they won't attack Pokémon. When the Tree spends too much energy in attempts to fight off intruders, it can become ill, which will result in the symbiotic Mew also weakening and the environment starting to collapse, endangering the Pokémon within.
