The Wood Folk are a mysterious race of sapient tree-like beings that ostensibly live in the enchanted forest near the walled city of Trolberg and would often enter into other people's houses although despite having their own homes.
Biology[]
Each adult members of the species are about the same size as Hilda. Their eyes are completely hollowed and they have a very distinctive oval-shaped mouth which never moves whenever speaking. Their face doesn't seem to ever change expression. They also possess a disproportionately-large round head that floats slightly above their body, as the Wood Folk themselves appear not to have a neck.
Their hands have four fingers, including an opposable thumb; but their feet don't seem to have toes. They drink something called "dirt tea", which appears to be made out of mud and sticks.
Most Wood Folk have a habit of aimlessly barging into people's houses, without permission, to give them wood and read one of their books. Although they only stay long enough to warm themselves by the fire and then leave, taking care towards generally avoid conversation. Despite this fact however, Wood Folk might have a cozy home of their own.
