Yoshis, a.k.a. Yoshisaurs are a species of bipedal dinosaur-like reptiles from the Super Mario Bros. series, where they oppose Bowser's troops and are regular allies of Mario.
Biology[]
Members of this species are known for having long prehensile tongues and for their ability to swallow objects and encase them in eggs, which can be thrown back at enemies as an offensive strategy. They also excel at jumping. Color variations include green, red, blue, yellow, orange, pink, purple and white.

Notes[]
- In the Super Mario Bros. live action film from 1993, Yoshi is portrayed as much smaller than his game counterpart, who is large enough to be used as a mount by humans. It's possible, however, that the film's Yoshi was merely a very young individual.
- Unlike most reptilian species, their ability to produce eggs doesn't appear to be dependant on gender, as T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas (the most well-known member) can lay eggs, despite being male.
