Zeus; known to the Romans as Jupiter, is the highest god of Mt. Olympus and presides over the skies; just like his brothers, Poseidon and Hades, rule over the seas and the underworld, respectively. He is famously known as the god of thunder and lighting.
The son of the Titans known as Cronos and Rhea, Zeus and his brothers were notably responsible for overthrowing the Titans and imprisoning them, giving rise to a new era in which he became known as the King of Gods. He is infamous for his numerous love affairs with other deities, nymphs and mortals alike; and for fathering numerous children, including but not limited to: Ares, Hebe, Hephaestus, Athena, Apollo, Artemis, Hermes, Persephone, Dionysus, Perseus, Heracles, King Minos, and Helen of Troy.
