Zomba is a demonic spirit and regarded as one of the thirteen most powerful ghosts in the world. As such, she has been imprisoned for decades within the Chest of Demons, before being unwittingly released by Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Rogers.

Although she and the other Chest entities are described as ghosts, Zomba bears more resemblance to a zombified witch (befitting her name), and notably has the ability to transport people to a fictional realm, such as within a movie, thus trapping them into the story of said movie, which will be experienced by the victims as if it was real.

Additionally, Zomba's mental abilities also include teleportation and telekinesis, the latter being strong enough to blast through a locked door and open a safe without bothering about the combination.
